El Tatio

from $100.00

The town of San Pedro de Atacama in northern Chile is 10k feet above sea level. Basecamp if you will. One must drive another 4k feet to reach the famed El Tatio Geysers to witness the steam form as boiling water meets the frigid morning air. That trip begins well before sunrise, in the dark, along a road so rutted that most people drive off road next to it for large portions. There were safety instructions given upon arrival, quickly and in Spanish. Here’s the gist: watch where you walk and don’t touch the boiling water. As the sun peaked above the mountain ridge the steam came alive in a stark foreign landscape. Then, with enough light, the show was greatly diminished and it was time to make the trek down to more breathable air.

Suggested listening: Greatest Day- Lost Desert Remix by Double Touch, Reigan, Lost Desert

This is a limited edition print (20), hand signed and printed on museum grade photo paper.
