Five Candles
It is hard to have a light show in San Francisco when thick fog rolls in before sunset to spoil the fun. San Francisco, with all of its challenges, has always had a soft spot for artists. A nonprofit called Illuminate created a series of installations in 2023 called the Summer of Awe. This piece involved shooting lasers vertically from the top of Coit Tower. Shot from Russian Hill during the gaps in the fog, this captures the changing light show in a sequence that seems almost as unreal as the real thing.
