It’s a long way down from this viewpoint in Yellowstone National Park, if you can get through the throngs of tourists who pile off of air conditioned white busses in neverending waves. I’ve always struggled with Yellowstone as a park. It’s size and notoriety doesn’t seem to allow for moment’s of discovery (I use that term loosely here). I forgot about this moment in 2019 and probably dismissed it too soon. There is no denying the awesome forces at play in this landscape and the sense of awe they create.
